weeeee...one year today^^ I don't think that's really going to kick in til tomorrow though...since it's not raining...so we're waiting til tomorrow to celebrate.
Today felt odd...I walked in the gym lobby in the morning and found a whole bunch of people doing something called "Meet You at the Poles" or something like that...which I've never heard of...it's apparently like a prayer circle thing...usually one big circle but today there were a lot of little ones instead...anyways...after managing to get around them to get to where I usually stay in the mornings...I got lots of hugs and squeezes from Corey^^ which ruled...In band, we played Variations on a Korean Folk song, which is stuck in my head as it has been all day...and it actually sounded decent, which made Mr. Rowe excited...which made me happy because I thought maybe we'd get out early, or at least on time...but of course not...so I didn't get to say goodbye to Corey then and I was growling at Mr. Rowe....but then in 2nd period I found out we had a fundraiser assembly, and so I met up with Corey and most of the kidney...The assembly was really odd...The leaders litterally gave away money...We're selling pretty wrapping paper and some other random stuff (magazines, candy, flower bulbs) for junior class funding. Anyways...then back for the rest of English, which flew by, not a bad thing even though I generally enjoy that class...Lunch was normal...In history, we watched a movie most of the period, which was cool, especially in comparison to how boring it usually is in there. During the first half of physics I thought I was going to fall asleep...my eyelids kept drooping and not reopening for a few seconds lol...we learned a little bit about Sir Isaac Newton and his first law of motion...which isn't a good thing to sleep during because I actually have to -gasp- learn that, unlike most of the things we've done so far...but then we went down to the library to reasearch engineering. Some people from State are coming to talk to us about their school of engineering and types of careers that involve it. Ms. Beiles let us choose what kind of engineering to research based on what we want to do for a career, but didn't really care that most of us didn't want to be engineers so she let us research/talk about the colleges we want to go to and what we want to do afterwards. So most of the time I just talked to Chris about random stuff, though we actually did somewhat talk about school. After school, I went to rehersal for extras...but the color guard wasn't there...and my part revolves around the color guard...so Mr. Rowe decided to be the guard lol and he wasn't sure exactly where they were supposed to go but it worked. I get to be in the show Friday night, assuming rain doesn't cancel the show, or the game for that matter. The pirate boat looks cool but not at all how I imagined it.
So...today I get to do homework! I want to have tomorrow free to spend with Corey. I have to read a section and take notes on it for history and finish writing my essay for English and then edit it and maybe have Rachel peer edit it if she has time. I really don't like this essay...and I have a feeling I'm not going to do so well on it. Ugh. Oh well. It's not like we won't have more for the grade to balance with lol, lots of papers in that class. In a way, I like it better that way though...Last year, we had a lot of tests on books we'd read and they'd have stupid detailed questions that I just didn't see the point of...I always did well on essays in there, but we hardly had any of them and they didn't count much. So this is nice-and the only tests we have are a midterm and a final. Literally 70% of our grades are based on writing-essays are 40% and timed writings are 30% (literary terms quizes=10%, tests=20%). Wow I rambled about that for too long. Yay homework procrastination.
I wish it was tomorrow...I want to reveal the evil plan finally...and even Hannah's going crazy trying to figure out what Corey's up to lol. Dad keeps asking me if I know where we're going to dinner yet because I told him it was a surprise...and I remind him that it's supposed to be a surprise lol so why would he tell me? And dad's like "well he has to tell you some time..." haha. I'm currious though, only because he's keeping it a secret. That sounds like a really obvious statement but I can't think of how to phrase it properly so oh well. Lalala my choice of words is sucking and I can't think straight and I don't wanna write my essay when my brain is dead like this haha maybe I'll got take a shower first and wake up!
Oh except I just realized I haven't updated about youth. Sunday was our first meeting of the year, and there were a TON of people there. I've never had to sit on the other side of the sanctuary before because it's mostly just leaders, and this time even that was filled with kids. Crazy. Corey, Steven, and I even sat behind the last row of pews when we had to move to the other side after the middle schoolers left because we still couldn't all fit. Davey and Steven came in addition to the usual youth crowd, so that was nice^^ We sang happy birthday to a whole bunch of people, and I made Melissa go up there *innocent giggle* and we did usual singing stuff...Then we went to the CLC and did an interesting activity. Three people had signs. One said "yes" the 2nd "no" and third "indecided." Mr. White read a sentence out and we had to go to whichever sign was what we agreed with. At first they were simple things like "I am right handed" lol but we moved on to a lot of things that included things about gays/lesbians/bisexuals and people of other races...I almost felt proud when I got to stay on the "yes" side for "I have danced with someone of another race at a school dance" (he never said it had to be a guy...Mahitha, Amena, and a bunch of my other friends used to swing dance in middle school all the time) and "I am close to someone who is gay, lesbian, or bisexual." After a good number of those types of things, we went on to talk about knowing people who have or are currently seeing a therapist, knowing someone who has been abused, feeling sad, feeling lonely, etc. It was heartbreaking to see how many people joined the "yes" side when the sentence was "I have cried in the past week." He started with "day" and then went to "week," "month," and "year," and by the end, everyone was in the "yes" area. Although the whole thing was very thought provoking, it was also really emotional...at one point the sentence was "I need a hug" and we just turned to everyone near us and gave hugs...a lot of people were crying by the end, and I was close to it. We listened to a song called "We are the Body" which was definitly a tear starter for some more people.
Mkay enough updating, I think I'll go take a shower and then make myself get to work. Bye!
