Nothing to do so I'll update^^
School first...
German: We had our first test on Thursday and I was really stressed out about it. I woke up almost an hour early that morning and panicked thinking I was running late because I was too distracted by German panic to realize what time it actually was. So I got to school and ended up having a nervous breakdown before class from a combination of German stress and the fact that I hadn't had a hug since Saturday. So I completely fell apart and started shaking really bad and thank goodness Corey came over and gave me a hug and let me cry on him for a while or I don't know what I would've done. I ended up geting a 93 on the grammar part of the test but I had a 0 on the verbs. Frau is going to let me make up the verb grade with the grade I get on the big verb test we'll have in two weeks. Melissa is going to help me study tomorrow so hopefully that'll help.
Stat: Still really easy, and homework isn't as bad as that first night; we're down to about an hour a night, which isn't bad for an AP class. We had a group quiz the other day and my group and I breezed through it and kept getting distracted and talking about other stuff and we were still the first group to turn it in and I think we did well on it. It's all very logical and it comes pretty easily to me, so I'm really enjoying it so far.
Tech theater: Much fun^^ We still haven't done any actual tech work yet, but we're hopefully starting Monday I think. We divided into groups on Friday, and I'm on the paint crew, which should be fun. We finished reading the script and we've started talking about how each part of the set should be painted and what colors and such, and I think it's going to be pretty cool. I think this will be that "family" class I've been missing, like creative writing in 10th grade. We can sit around and have the most random conversations, even with Mrs. Winter (ex: stories of her catching people making out in the tech booth and screaming her head off and beating them haha), and it's just relaxed and fun.
Band: We're down to four clarinets :-( The freshman girl had a schedule change and I think now she's in Band I, which is probably good for her because she didn't know how to play really high notes yet (which is normal for most freshmen clarinets; I didn't learn above a C# above the staff until freshman year). We have chair tests sometime this week and I'm really hoping to move up to first clarinet but I'm not sure if I'll be able to beat Marissa, and I have absolutely no idea how good Amber is so I dunno about her either. I might still get to play first part even if one of them is above me though, at least for state contest, because some people from Wind Ensamble might play with us-the bass clarinets can play clarinet in our class because it's considered a different instrument, and Taylor might play with us instead of Wind Ensamble. We'll see. Right now we're just having trouble finding songs to play for state contest and we're really cutting it close.
I started the driving part of Drivers Ed yesterday. It went okay. The only thing I hit was one curb lol so that's not too bad I guess. I'm definitly not good yet but I think I'm getting better. Mr. Leary says I'm one of the only people he's ever had to tell "go faster!" haha. The only thing I really didn't like about it was that I got really car sick later...like, delayed car sick, which I didn't even know was possible. I had my wristband thingies on while we were driving and I was fine, but I took them off when I got home and then I felt really sick from all those turns. I took a motion sickness pill and went to bed at 10:00. Well...motion sickness pills, the "less drowsy" kind, are the only things that can really knock me out lol. I slept really hard and could barely get up this morning at like 11:00 even though my parents came in my room to wake me up every few minutes after 10:00. Finally I got up because we were supposed to go look at UNCG. Then I slept some in the car on the way there. We looked around the campus a little bit and I decided it's waaaaay to big for me so I'm going to UNCW. (Roomies anyone? Or know of anyone who would want to room with me?) We stopped by Elon to look around the campus incase I don't like UNCW so I could have a backup place to transfer to next year, and I could hardly stay awake to see the campus, though I really liked it. Then I slept on the way back. We got home around 4:00, and I went straight to bed. Around 8:00, I woke up and decided I should probably go eat dinner. Then I took a shower and got online and I'm already exausted and I'm going back to bed in a few minutes. So that's my story of how tired those pills, which are only supposed to last 12 hours, make me-I slept about 19 hours in 24 hours and yeah I'm still sleepy so if that math is wrong I don't care. Keep in mind that on the cruise I had to take 2 of those every 12 hours to keep from getting sick (I only took one last night) and I had to function enough to play my clarinet in a judged concert, snorkel, etc. lol. So anyway, I'm thinking when I finish drivers ed on Monday and Tuesday I'm just not going to take those wristbands off for a really long time.
Robert is coming on the 4th afterall, but it's ok because he'll be here all day and our QOH dinner reservation isn't until 7:30 so we can hang out all afternoon.
I've decided "Spill the Wine" is one of the most random non-Weird Al songs ever. Download it if you want; don't just look at the lyrics because it sounds much more random than it reads.
Tomorrow=church :-D and watching Melissa play handbells, then lunch with her, then getting help from her with my German verbs, then hw, then youth. That was a lot of thens. I'm tired. G'night!

Lotsa stuff lately...
Went to Lisa's party on Saturday, which was cool. Lots of random things happened, such as when we thought a lot of boys and Kelly had run off to a strip club...yeah lol they didn't but that rumor definitly spread quickly. Oh and there was the very amusing moment when a few people started singing "Springtime with Hitler" from The Producers. We were outside and these people were on the porch of a house nearby. I couldn't see them but other people were like "look people are watching!"...and then Brian was like "I'm going to go give them a hug!" and ran off to do that...and we were all like "Omg what if they're Jewish?" because the song is talking about how lovely Germany was with Hitler, and though in the movie it's very obviously not supposed to really mean that, but out of context I can see how people would be offended. When Brian got to the yard and waved, they gave him the finger, so he decided to come back. Wow that was an interesting night, and I was sick so I was really really out of it and spacey (I was like 'weeee spacey" to this kid that was talking to me and he jumped away from me thinking I was telling him that he was invading my personal space even though he was like 5 feet from me hahaha) and couldn't follow anything that was happening so that was fun lol.
The new semester has started, so I have new classes:
German II: I'm going to die. I don't remember sooooo much of the German I stuff it's rediculous. Frau is being really nice about it though, but still. It's going to be tough. Lots of band kids though, which is nice.
AP Stat: Really easy but a lot of homework, at least last night. Almost everything we've done so far has been review (some of it really old review, like stem and leaf plots lol) but a lot of kids don't seem to remember things, haven't done them, or at least haven't done them on their calculators before, so we're moving fairly slowly. Well, slowly compared to precalc anyway, but that was with Ms. Sweeney who went insanely fast and made things confusing and hated it when we asked questions. Ms. Thomas is really nice and patient though, so I like her. And I love the fact that we get formula sheets and calculators on her tests! And she actually suggests that we use a calculator to make graphs because it's easier and then we can just copy them down and I love that lol. Andrew and Wesley will keep me highly entertained in that class.
Lunch: Better than last semester. It's earlier and that means I can eat when I'm hungry and it's not nearly as crowded, which is nice. So far I've been going on with Matt, Corey, and Liz, and today one of Matt's football friends joined us.
Tech Theater: We haven't done any actual tech work yet, but I like the class. Dave and Jill are in there, along with other nice people, and I love that it's a friendly group of people and they're all pretty outgoing since most of them are drama students too. Today, Dave randomly jumped on the stage and told us a story and everyone listened and got into it and everything. Much fun. We're mostly reading the script of the musical now to get a feel for what it's like so we can design the scenery. The construction is pretty much done because the class last semester put it together, but it hasn't been painted yet and we're not sure exactly what's going to be painted what color and such. We get to do the construction and everything else for the final play though.
Band: We have 5 clarinets! Yay! We haven't been re-chaired yet though so I dunno how that's going to work out. We were all talking a lot yesterday and I think that probably helped Mr. Rowe get into a bad mood today. We had to write essays on keeping up with music (after I stayed after school yesterday to help him collect music that had been left out grr), and I mostly wrote that the main reason that we shouldn't lose our music is because Melissa is our librarian and she has a bad temper so she'll kill us. The essays had to be 1000 words long (well they were supposed to be but no one got that far-mine ended up at 747 when the bell rang-yes he made us count the words by hand) so Liz and I listed every instrument part we could think of and that took up about a page hehe. So basically none of us took it extremely seriously-Corey's even went on about some theory that if we lose our music, aliens will blow up the Earth...yeah. That's band lol. But it ticked a lot of people off and I've heard a lot of talk about people dropping it this semester. I'm not though. I cannot imagine not having a band class. I love it too much, even if we do have punishment days occasionally.
random other stuff:
I'm not going to Wesleyan. It was a tough choice, but I've finally decided that it's just not the right place for me. I'm leaning towards UNCW but since I got in UNCG I'm going to look around the campus on Saturday before making my final decision about that. Anyone interested in rooming at either place? Or know anyone you think I'd get along with that would be interested? PLEASE let me know!
I'm starting the driving part of drivers ed on Friday (eww 2:30-7!), then finishing it up on Monday and Tuesday.
Queen of Hearts is soon^^ Feb. 4th. I'm really glad that I found out Robert (my friend from Texas) won't be here until the 5th, because I thought he was coming on the 4th, and I want to spend time with him and I promised him I would because I was really bad about it last time, and I was like "noooooo not the same day!" but he IMed me the other day to say he won't be here until the 5th so now it's all good :-)
Ok I'd better go do my Stat hw and study for German...bye!

That made me smile...and yeah I know an avacado is a fruit but it's the first thing I thought of so too bad :P
Ok so what haven't I updated about...I went out for breakfast with Corey, Liz, and Melissa during 2nd period on review day because none of us had to be there that period...then I hung out in the band room during 3rd period and lunch, and then I -gasp- went to band! Lol so that was a nice, easy day. Ms. Bate counted me absent from creative writing though...grr...Anyone know what we're supposed to do about that for review day as far as sending in a note? I refuse to have an unexcused absense so maybe I uhhh randomly got sick but only missed 2nd period because my other teachers didn't count me absent.
I didn't have to take any exams so I had the rest of the week off. I went to Rocky Mount on Wednesday and explored the town...It's going to suck to not have a car there because there isn't much within walking distance, but there is a tiny shopping center with a chinese resturant and a grocery store just across the street, so it's better than nothing. It's amazing how big a school with only like 750 kids looks compared to Apex. I found out that a lot of kids go home every weekend, which kinda sucks, but if I went home I probably wouldn't have anything to do anyway, so I'm hoping a lot of the Habitat for Humanity projects will take up my weekend time. Oh and I also found out I can't have my own room as a freshman, but oh well. So the trip made me a little more nervous, but I'm still kinda glad to be getting out of here soon.
Thursday was my appointment with Lee, which went really well. I found out that the main thing churches like in youth ministers is a masters degree, but that the bachelors degree can be completely unrelated. So I think I'm going to go on with my plans to get a bachelors degree in math, then decide if I want to go through the teaching certification process, go on to get a masters in youth ministry, or both so that I can change later if I decide to. He also made me feel better about my lack of knowlege of the bible by saying that the most important knowlege in youth ministry is learning by experiance with the kids. There's some kind of youth ministry event thingie at White Plains (a methodist church in Cary) in April that he said I could go to with the youth leaders at my church, just as an observer, to get a greater feel for what youth ministry is really like, and I'd really like that.
After my appointment, mom and I did some errands and such, and then I went to get my permit! Yay! I even passed the eye test without my glasses on, which I was really surprised by, but I guessed a LOT on the vision test so I guess I guessed well lol, and the lady was like "ehhhhhh barely...but ok." The computer test went pretty well and the signs test was really easy, so I got my permit. Dad said we could go driving tomorrow if it doesn't rain, because we can go somewhere other than the senior parking lot now that I'm legal lol.
That evening, Hannah P. came over for a sleepover to celebrate the end of first semester and thus the end of her time with her evil math teacher. We rented House of Wax, which was really bizzzare. I thought we were getting a different movie lol-I mixed up that title with another one-and it was a lot more gory and weird than we expected, so we ended up turning it off, watching some Harry Potter (hehe Hannah P, Harry Potter, HP! that amuses me), and then talked so much that we turned that off too and just talked for a long time, which was really fun. She's one of my only friends that I can still have totally random conversations with that never end and make me laugh until I cry. As much as I miss it with everyone else, it's nice to know that I've got her as a great friend.
This afternoon I went to a broughton gathering at the park near broughton...It was a soccer gathering but I didn't play...Hannah T and I spent a lot of the time, as we put it, "wallowing," so it wasn't exactly a great afternoon. Depressing. But then Matt took us out for ice cream, which was nice, and I got to giggle when we saw Hannah T's 8th grade boyfriend that Anna and I spied on a few years ago haha. I went to see Triston and Isolde (sp?) tonight with Elizabeth and Lisa. It was a good movie, and we amused ourselves by counting the lack of guys in the theater. It was packed, and there were like 8 guys hahaha. Oh and I found out that Lisa isn't going to be in my band class this semester afterall, which is really weird. Mr. Rowe said she was going to because of a scheduling problem (she's normally in wind ensamble) and he was even going off about how we'd need to do chair tests again because we're losing two people and gaining her, but Lisa never even knew that he thought that. I'm wondering if he just said the wrong name every day, because that's a very Mr. Rowe-like thing to do, but it's kind of strange anyway.
Sleep...

Quick update:
I told Mom about my idea of going into youth ministry...and she was surprised but took it better than I expected. She just said to find out exactly what it involves, so I have an appointment set up with Lee (the new youth minister) on Thursday.
I'm exempt from all my exams^^ including physics.
I drove again and I still haven't crashed lol. I'm going to try to get my permit sometime this week if I have time.
Going to Wesleyan on Wednesday to look around the town and such...I also told my parents that that's where I want to go to school.
This was a fun long weekend. I went out with Davey and Hannah T. Saturday afternoon. We went out for lunch, determined that chickens do in fact have feathers, and then we went to see the Broughton play. It was cute, and I was glad to get to see the Broughton people, even for only a few minutes. Then we randomly went to the Toychest (the toy store I used to love when I was younger). Oh and we had a sort of contest in the car to see how long we could make Hannah laugh, which was really amusing.
Then I went home for a while and then over to Rachel's. I got to see John (a friend of Rachel's from middle school that now goes to Leesville I think) for the first time since I think 6th grade maybe? or 7th? So that was cool lol. We were the Pictionary champs of the evening haha. I found out that Andrew and Leslie are in my Stat class, which is nice. Jonathan is in there with us too.
Yesterday was Matt's eagle ceremony. Ahh running out of time so sorry but the details of that get to be left out-it was a nice ceremony though. I told Lauren she was my witness to tell Matt's mom that I ate something at the reception (she has this thing about how I never eat anything even though I do lol) and apparently she actually went up to her and told her after I left lol. I'm currious to hear her response because it's kind of our ongoing joke. Then I had part of youth, but I left early to do childcare. I was with another lady and we were watching a set of triplets (two boys, one girl) and another girl. I expected the triplets to be a handful, but it was actually really really easy. They colored for a few minutes, then watched a movie (like, actually watched-they hardly even talked during it), and then played with Legos. So the lady and I pretty much spent the whole time talking about college (she went to Wesleyan for night school a few years ago, off campus, but still) and how I should write a letter to the school telling them not to play rap music at prom lol. It was kind of random but she was really nice. Oh and then I signed up to go to Mississippi over spring break to help clean up from Hurricane Katrina.
K almost bedtime...gnight!

I feel like a ton of things have happened since my last update but I can hardly think of any so hopefully they'll come to me as I write.
I decided to get my permit, despite my accident fear. I went driving last weekend, just around an empty parking lot with my dad, and it went pretty well. I didn't hit anything haha. I found out that since I'm 18, I can't take the driving part of drivers ed until I get my permit...which sounds kind of odd...but it has something to do with legal stuff since I'm not a minor anymore. Oh well. I need to study, get my permit, and then I'll do the driving part because I still want to do it to be a better driver and get a break on my insurance.
Our new youth minister, Lee, started last Sunday. I really really like him so far. I've actually been considering going into youth ministry...which is pretty much as far away from being a math teacher as you can get...and I was thinking about it right when he spoke to us about some of us who have never expected to enter the ministry being called to do so. Ever since then, I have not been able to get the idea out of my head. I love being in my youth group and I'd like to help others experiance what I have. I love doing service projects. I'm a good organizer and planner. I have a strong interest in psychology, which is important to anyone involved in any type job that helps others with problems. I like to help others and I've seen what a huge impact church can have on people's lives because it's changed mine so much. I love learning about my religion, but that's the part that worries me. I still have so much to learn. I rarely get the opportunity to go to church anymore. I went with Corey's family for a while and loved it, but I haven't been with them since he and I broke up. I don't want to go by myself and the only other people I know that go to and enjoy church and that I would be comfortable asking if I could go with go to really really early services and I don't want to get up that early and my parents probably wouldn't let me because they'd be afraid I'd get sick from not getting enough sleep. I've never even read the Bible all of the way through, though I'm in the process of it now. I don't know all the stories or even all of the people. So I'm worried that it's too much for me to take on, especially since I was raised without much religious influence. And yet...the reason I chose to teach geometry was only because I'm good at it and I understand it well, which makes me wonder if I was just settling for something because I couldn't find a better alternative. So right now I'm not exactly sure what my plans are, but it's making Wesleyan look even better. I haven't even told my parents that I'm considering going into youth ministry yet because I'm not sure if I'll like they're reactions. Both of my parents were raised very religiously so that neither of them likes to be involved in church anymore. They don't mind that I go to youth, but I don't think youth ministry would be exactly the career they'd want for me, though maybe I'm just being paranoid. I have a feeling they'd tell me that they support me but that they would hint that being a teacher is a better idea, especially by going on about me being a good teacher. Bleh confusion. I think I'm going to meet with Lee sometime to discuss all that and get an oppinion from someone who really knows about the job, though I'd appreciate any comments from you guys too.
School stuff...
English: I ended up with a B that's too low to bring up with the exam, and I'm exempt. I don't like having a B but honestly I'm just thankful to be out of there. That has been a frustrating class to me because the teacher kept contradicting herself all the time and it drove me insane. I'll miss some of the kids in the class though-I liked having so many friends/nice people sit near me.
Creative writing: I got kicked out of class yesterday for the first time in my life. That makes it sound more dramatic than it was, but it still rather shocked me. I'm the good kid lol; I don't get in trouble and for the most part teachers like me. Well Ms. Bate doesn't. Elizabeth and I were talking for like 30 seconds during a movie the other day and she got completely unreasonably fed up with us and said really shortly "Do you just want to leave?" And we were like "uhh...sure?" and so she wrote us a note and told us to leave. We were supposed to go to the library but we decided to go to the band room and hang out with Melissa instead. Fine by us. Neither of us can stand her. Then today, the last day for seniors, she went around the room to talk to each senior. She told each person goodbye and what she liked about having them in her class and things like that, almost like a verbal version of a yearbook signing or something. Guess who she didn't talk to? Not that I mind or anything, but it really amused me that I was the only senior that was left out, and it's just because she doesn't like me. And why doesn't she like me? Because I don't like to spend day after day talking about guys jacking off and I don't like that she constantly tells us how much she hates our class. It's rediculous. I'm glad to be done with that class, though I feel bad leaving Elizabeth alone in there for the review and exam. I'm glad that I can look back on the class and laugh at how stupid it was instead of feeling completely angry though.
Physics: I still don't know if I'll have to take the exam, but I doubt it. I needed at least a 91 on the test we took today to keep an A, and if I don't have an A I'll take the exam to bring it up. A 91 is like a 65% or so in AP terms though, and I think I did pretty well, and I did the extra credit thing that went along with it, so that should be ok. I'm really going to miss that class. It was hard but it was really fun at the same time. Ms. Beiles is awesome. The people in there kept me constantly entertained, whether it was Zach and Lynch arguing over random things beyond my comprehension, moments of stupidity that occured frequently and made us all laugh, relating physics to dating, Ms. Beiles answering her phone in other languages and confusing the office people, or even just making Brandon's curls go "boiiiiing" haha.
Band: It's been fun, but I miss playing first part, especially the solos. I enjoy the class despite some of the more annoying people. I'm glad that it's not over yet and I plan on continuing to play in the concert band at college. I think this year is the year I've most enjoyed the actual music...not like prefering this years songs or anything, but I guess, in Mr. Rowe's words, I have more passion. The social part of band has been the main part of the class to me in past years, but I guess having less people to talk with most of the time this year let me focus more on the music and learn to appreciate it more.
Stuff to look forward to next semester:
German: omg I don't remember ANYTHING lol. I need to do some major studying. I'll know a lot of people in the class though, lots of band people, including Hannah P, which is awesome.
AP Stat: I've heard it's pretty easy and that the teacher is good. I have an assignment due the first day, which sucks, but I don't know anything about it yet because I didn't realize that the teacher leaves after second period, so I tried to get it after school today. I'll go Tuesday morning. So basically I'm not really excited about it but it doesn't sound too bad.
Tech Theatre: Yay! Power tools! Haha. I really want to do the set building part. I've never built a set before but after building a porch and doing a bunch of random other projects like that I figure I have a general idea of the basic construction that we'd need to do. I like painting too and I did set painting when I was a freshman. Davey and Jill are in that class too, so that should be fun, though I wish we had Ana too but she had to drop that class.
Band: See above lol.
Oh and I'll have lunch with more people.
Ok this is long and I'm hungry so...bye!

This is my really random bizzare beatles story for creative writing. Song titles are in italics just so you can see how I overused them on purpose because I decided I didn't care about writing a good story; I just wanted to make it random and strange. So no comments on the writing itself sucking because I know it does and that's kinda the point lol. I know not all the titles exactly fit the sentences but too bad. I guess you can kinda say it's based on a true story...sortof haha...I miss 10th grade creative writing. Anyway, enjoy!
A Day in the Life
One day, after lunch, three students walked out of the courtyard at Apex High School on their way to third period. They were all sophomore girls, but were very different from each other, though they were close friends. Rachel was the tallest of the three, with shoulder length red hair and glasses. Jane was average height with very long brown hair. Katie was the shortest of the three, and she also had long brown hair. Katie had a dark secret and her greatest fear was that someone would find out the truth about her life.
As the girls walked, Jane checked her watch.
“We’re going to be late,” she commented, but she didn’t sound worried.
“Me too,” said a voice behind her. It was Ken, another student in the girl’s third period class. “We’d better come up with a good story.”
They all smiled at that. Their teacher had a fun rule for tardiness. If a student was late to class, he would not count the student tardy as long as long as he or she could tell a good story to explain. Sometimes kids even came late to class on purpose just so they could stand before the class and tell tall tales and wild adventures of battling hallway monsters and aliens from the school dumpsters.
All four kids were thinking their own thoughts about a possible story to tell when Katie suddenly noticed something. She stopped and smiled, staring at the brick wall. Across several bricks, a message had been scratched: “All you need is love.”
Katie pointed out the message to the others. All were Beatles fans and thus very amused. Rachel began to sing the familiar song and the others joined in.
“There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It’s easy.
Nothing you can make that can’t be made.
No one you can save that can’t be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It’s easy.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.”
There was a blinding flash of light a few feet in front of them. They blinked several times to focus, then blinked again, amazed at the sight before them.
There stood the Beatles. All of them, looking perfectly alive and well.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey! That sounded pretty good!” shouted Paul.
“Groovy,” agreed Ringo. “How would you like to come with us, down the long and winding road across the universe?”
Rachel, Jane, Katie, and Ken were shocked.
“I-I just don’t understand!” cried Ken. “How are you here? How do you do it? Why did you come?”
“Don’t ask me why,” replied John. “I can’t tell you every little thing.”
Katie began to protest, but George interrupted.
“Let it be,” he told her. “Come on, let’s go! John, you can drive my car.”
Still stunned, but not wanting to give up the once in a lifetime opportunity of hanging out with the Beatles, Rachel, Jane, Katie, and Ken followed as George led them to the parking lot.
Rachel leaned close to Jane and whispered in her ear. “I’ve just seen a face…several faces…of three people who are supposed to be dead.”
John unlocked a blue suburban. “Everyone got their ticket to ride?” he asked. Seeing their confused faces, he laughed. “Only joking. Hop in!”
They climbed into the car, buckled their seatbelts, and sat quietly, unsure what would happen next. John smiled at them, cranked up the car, and pushed a small orange button on the dashboard. Immediately, everyone was thrown backwards as the car shot off like a rocket and flew into outer space.
“Look!” cried Katie. “Here comes the sun!”
Rachel was staring out of her window. “What ARE those things?” she asked as they passed hundreds of glimmering rocks.
“Diamonds,” answered Ringo.
John turned the steering wheel and parked the car on a huge diamond. On the diamond was a house made of Norwegian wood. “Let’s go see Lucy,” he said. He got out of the car and they followed.
A woman came out of the house and stood on the porch to welcome them.
“Hey, Jude!” called George. “We just stopped by to say hi to Lucy.”
“Oh, I’m afraid she’s not here right now. She’s in the sky with dizzy miss Lizzy and lady Madonna, looking at the diamonds, checking to see how much of a profit we’ll be able to make farming them this year. You know, I thought she was the fool on the hill when she first told me her idea for a diamond farm in the sky, but I must say we’ve done quite well! Of course, there’s the occasional night when I get lonesome tears in my eyes, but I always say ob-la-di, ob-la-da, you know. Life goes on. It’s been much better since I joined Sgt. Pepper’s lonely hearts club band, anyway.”
“Glad to hear it,” said Ringo. “Well, I don’t want to spoil the party, but I’d like you to meet some friends of ours. Come together, kids, so you can meet Jude. She’s an old friend.”
“Hi,” said Jane, timidly. She introduced herself and the others in turn.
“Would you like to step inside, loves?” asked Jude. “I’ve just made some wild honey pie.”
“Sure,” said John, and he led the way into the house.
While all but Katie, who was allergic to honey, ate their snack, Jude brought out a box to show them. Suddenly, Rachel felt uneasy. “I’ve got a feeling I don’t want to know what’s in there,” she whispered to Katie, who nodded.
“This is Maxwell’s silver hammer,” announced Jude, pulling it from the box, her eyes suddenly flashing and filled with madness. “I borrowed it from him for just such an occasion.” She grinned maliciously.
The others exchanged panicked looks.
“Hey, Jude, don’t do this,” pleaded George.
“Wait! We can work it out!” cried Ken.
“No!” shouted Jude. “With a little help from my friend, maybe we could’ve, but when I’m sixty-four and have no friends, I’ll feel better knowing I killed you all! Young blood is sweet!” She raised the hammer.
They ran out of the house, terrified. Not thinking clearly enough in their moment of panic, the kids, who were leading the pack, stepped off of the edge of the diamond and fell back across the universe and plunged into the ocean. “Help!” the screamed as they fell.
Luckily, a yellow submarine happened to be passing at that exact moment. Ken, Rachel, and Jane landed in the entrance chamber and went inside.
“Where’s Katie?” asked Ken, looking worried.
A man behind them answered, “If you mean the little brunette, she came in through the bathroom window. I saw her when I was fixing a hole.”
“Oh thank goodness!” exclaimed Jane as Katie came into the room.
“Who are you?” Katie asked the man.
“I’m the nowhere man,” he replied.
“But surely we’re not…nowhere?” asked Rachel worriedly.
“Of course not,” he said. “They just call me that because eight days a week I’ll follow the sun where ever it leads me. Right now we’re in an octopus’ garden.”
“Can you get us home?” asked Jane. “We live in Apex, North Carolina.”
“Sure,” said the nowhere man. “I passed by the Carolina shores just yesterday, but when a shadow suddenly came over me, I knew I was in the octopus’ garden in the shade.” He turned the wheel so that the sub began to move in the opposite direction.
Katie was beginning to feel very hungry, and the feeling made her nervous. She had forgotten her lunch money, and since she hadn’t had any wild honey pie, her stomach was rumbling. Her secret was pushing out from its tiny hidden place at the back of her brain, threatening to overcome her.
While the others chatted about their adventure with the Beatles, Katie paced back and forth nervously. Her stomach growled and she began to feel desperate and afraid. Suddenly she snapped. Katie dashed across the room, her eyes flashing, teeth growing long and pointy, and she bit Rachel’s neck and began to suck her blood.
Rachel screamed. The talking ceased instantly. Everyone sat, shocked and rigid, watching. Finally, Katie drew away from Rachel. Everyone stared at her.
“Run for your life!” screamed the nowhere man. The others ignored him and continued to watch Katie.
“Umm…do you want to know a secret?” Katie asked, ashamed. The others nodded, ignoring the nowhere man cowering beside them. “I’m a vampire,” announced Katie. “Most of the time I try to act naturally so that people won’t suspect me, but sometimes I just have an attack and all I’ve got to do is suck someone’s blood.
Just then, Rachel caused a distraction by falling out of her chair.
“She’s fainted!” cried Jane.
Rachel began to shake, rattle, and roll.
“She’s having a seizure!” exclaimed Ken.
“No, just shock,” said Katie. She covered her with a blanket. Rachel was still very pale, but stopped shaking.
“Well, we’re almost back to North Carolina,” said the nowhere man. “Then I can send you back to school with my magical mystery tour machine. It’s kind of like a teleportation machine, but it only works on land.”
Rachel’s eyelids fluttered.
“How’re you feeling?” Ken asked her.
“Getting better,” she answered.
“Rachel, I’m sorry!” cried Katie. “I should have known better!”
“It’s okay,” said Rachel. “Everybody’s got something to hide except for me and my monkey.” Her eyelids closed again.
They all glanced at each other, confused.
“Umm, I think maybe she still needs to rest for a while,” said Ken, amused.
“Here we are!” announced the nowhere man. “Back in North Carolina!”
“Yay!” said Jane.
“You all just need to touch this screen and then it will teleport you to the exact time and place you were before the Beatles took you away.” The nowhere man typed something into his computer. “It was nice to meet you all.”
“Thanks so much for helping us,” said Katie.
“Any time at all,” replied the nowhere man. “Goodbye.”
Rachel’s eyes opened and she managed to mumble, “Hello…goodbye.”
The nowhere man pressed a button and colors began to swirl around them. In an instant, the four teenagers found themselves back at Apex High School.
“We’d better get to class,” said Jane. The others nodded. Ken picked up Rachel to carry her because she was still too weak to walk. “I feel fine,” she said impatiently, but the others knew that she was not yet fully recovered.
They walked down to the trailers and up the ramp. Before they entered, they glanced at each other one last time. Then Jane led the way into the classroom.
“You’re late,” commented the teacher. “I hope you have a good story.”
They all smiled at that, and took turns explaining their adventure. Katie didn’t talk much because she was used to odd things happening to her. After all, this was only a day in the life of a vampire.
Come on, you know you want to comment on that!!!

Quick update while I procrastinate on figuring out which character is which in A Tale of Two Cities lol
People actually talked to me on Tuesday at school! :-) It made me happy. Mornings at school have sucked lately but I'm hoping now that's fixed.
Dad called Wesleyan hoping that if an adult called they'd pay more attention to him than they have to my messages and letter. Well, turns out he just picked a good time because my admissions councelor actually answered the phone for once. So Dad talked to him, nicely, but saying basically that we were dissappointed with the lack of response, especially when I was promised a phone call before Thanksgiving break and I still hadn't heard back from them. So the admissions guy was really nice and appologized, faxed me the form immediately, and told Dad that I'm the only one signed up so far. That also means I got my first choice time slot, Feb. 20, a day we have off from school, so that's nice. However, they're only giving out three scholarships this year (as opposed to 17 last year), and I dunno how many people will apply for it-depending on how many of them were in the same situation with me, and whether they call and get in touch with someone or if the Wesleyan people decide to call the people they were supposed to call a few months ago lol. So I'm kinda nervous. And the sheet says that I'm going to have a bunch of 15 minute interviews, adding up to about 2 1/2 hours. That's a lot of talking lol. I guess that just means I'm going to be meeting with a lot of people who will hopefully ask me a bunch of the same questions.
I am writing the most random Beatles story EVER for creative writing. It's based off an old inside joke type thing and I'm throwing Beatles titles all throughout it. It's really corny and stupid and not well written but honestly that's what people in my class like to read so I'm going to do what they'll like. I'm so fed up with that class that I just want to get my last grade in and get it over with. It doesn't matter how good it is anyway; we get a 100 if we turn a paper in. I'll post the story when I'm finished.
I finally started thinking about driving again...seriously this time...It's the first time I've ever told people that I was thinking about it. I was still scared though, because every time I start thinking about it, someone gets in a wreck. It's happened several times. Just before I took drivers ed, my grandmother was killed in a car crash. It creeped me out and it was a big reason that I decided not to do the driving part of the class for a while. I thought about it a few times, but every time I did, someone was in an accident. So I was worried that if I started considering it again, someone else would get in a wreck. Of course, everyone told me it was just a coincidence, that it's not like the accidents were supposed to be a message to me to not drive. I brought it up to a few people yesterday evening.
Melissa totaled her car last night. A ton of people were late to school today because there was another accident near school.
What does that mean? Am I really not supposed to drive? What if it really is a sign? It's happened so many times and now I'm scared.
Comments appreciated.

debating with myself...
Wesleyan pro:
-my own room
-small enough that I won't get lost
-small enough that I can meet people easily
-developing band program that I could help
-habitat for humanity
-methodist
-close to home
-plenty to do on campus
-already have a big scholarship
-If I decide to go there soon, I don't have to finish UNCW scholarship applications
Wesleyan con:
-might have to do teaching certification somewhere else (not sure)
-bad about returning phone calls
-not much to do in town
-crime rate in town isn't so great
UNCW pro:
-more stuff to do in town
-near the beach
-might know a few people from Apex
-wireless
UNCW con:
-bigger
-further from home
That first list is a lot longer...I'm leaning...now if only I could get in touch with someone to set up my interview...

Stolen from Marc..did this last year too
1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? went out of the country
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I honestly do not remember what my resolutions were for last year and I didn't blog them so I have no idea haha. It was probably soemthing about scholarships, but I've only heard from one of those so far. This year it's to make some close friends that actually want to hang out with me, to explore my faith more in depth, including more Bible reading, and to figure out where I'm going to college and enjoy it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? nope
4. Did anyone close to you die? nope
5. What countries did you visit? Bahamas
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? the feeling that friends actually want to spend time with me
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? October 31...I discovered I had fewer people to lean on than I expected and I lost my feeling of security.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I really wanted a big scholarship, and I got one. I just don't know if I want to go to the school that's offering it yet.
9. What was your biggest failure? False sense of security
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? nothing major
11. What was the best thing you bought? Uhhh I guess I'll say my prom dress because I had fun shopping for it
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Sheller because he let me rant to him all the time and listened when I needed someone more than anyone else this year...all the Broughton people because they're so accepting and make me smile...Hannah P. because she was incredibly supportive and a genuine friend
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed? Depressed...Corey and Liz at the end of this year but I'm not blaming either of you so no getting mad, I'm just remembering how I felt when it happened. Umm...Ms. Bate and a few of the kids in creative writing...those are the main ones I guess
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? ASP-I cannot wait to go back because it was so great this year. The beach with Corey and his family this summer...the end of marching season lol but then that didn't work out like I thought it would...umm...parties where I got to see Broughton people
16. What song will always remind you of 2005? If we are the Body-Casting Crowns and Losing Grip-Avril Lavigne
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder: sadder
Older or wiser: both
Thinner or fatter: probably about the same
Richer or poorer: about the same
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? spent more time with Broughton kids
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? feeling lonely
20. How will you be spending Christmas? spent it at home freaking out because a squirel got caught in the wall
21. How will you be spending New Years Eve? I did some party hopping...I got 3 invites but one was last minute (my fault) so I already had plans to go to the first two...went to Lynch's for a while and then to Steven's. Both pretty small but I got to see Erin and Jo for the first time in ages
22. Did you fall in love in 2005? I'd already fallen
23. How many one-night stands? none
24. What was your favorite TV program? Everwood
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I try not to hate anyone
26. What was the best book you read? Harry Potter #6! It still makes me cry and I've read it like 5 times.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? that I can play first part clarinet without totally dying, and that I really like solos
28. What did you want and get? scholarship
29. What did you want and not get? a good friend to go to college with...this year was a bad year for friends
30. What was your favorite film(s) of this year? HP #4
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 18. I had a party a few days before and I had a lot of fun. On my actual birthday though, I was kinda upset because no one at school remembered. It's a little dissapointing to know that two friends that I haven't spoken to in years, one of whom lives in India, remembered and sent me emails, but only like 2 of my friends that I see every day remembered.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? better relationships with my friends
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? jeans + dressyish tops
34. What kept you sane? Corey for most of the year, Sheller, Hannah P
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you admire the most? I like my answer from last year...Not Bush.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The years are running together lol...I guess this isn't exactly political, but the aftermath of Katrina had a lot of politics involved...but I mostly felt bad for the families affected. Oh and I don't like that it feels like everyone has forgotten about the Tsunamis from last December because those people still need a lot of help too.
37. Who did (do) you miss? Mahitha...Corey...Anna...
38. Who were the best new person/people you met? Lauren and Hannah P, though I already knew her, just not as well.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: Don't depend on a secure feeling because there's a huge chance that it's not real
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: This is hard because the beggining of the year was great. Things just fell apart at the end of the summer. So this might not exactly sum it up but it's what I'm trying to mold myself to be like. It's from Godspell
"You are the light of the world!
You are the light of the world!
But if that light is under a bushel,
Brrr, it's lost something kind of crucial
You got to stay bright to be the light of the world
You are the salt of the earth
You are the salt of the earth
But if that salt has lost its flavor
It ain't got much in its favor
You can't have that fault and be the salt of the earth!
So let your light so shine before men
Let your light so shine
So that they might know some kindness again
We all need help to feel fine (let's have some wine!)"
well except for that last part lol
I know this whole thing sounds bitter about friendships...so I'm just going to clarify so that no one gets mad or anything...none of my friends have done anything wrong to me or anything like that. I just feel like I've lost touch with most of them, and of the few that I try to cling on to, I feel like I don't fit anymore. A lot of times I get the impression that people wish I wasn't there. I've kinda pushed myself into a few groups of friends and I feel like I invite myself along with them a lot and I don't like doing that but I don't want to lose them either. I really ought to have learned my lesson on that by now, especially after I was miserable with marching band, which I only did because I was afraid of losing friends if i didn't, but I think if I don't hint that I want to do something with people all the time, I'm going to end up sitting alone at my house until college. I was worried about going away from my friends, but maybe some new friends would be a good thing for me right now. Wesleyan is starting to look better and better-my own room, a small school where I could get to know people quickly, but not too far from State and UNC-CH, for those couple of people that might actually keep in touch with me and want to see me sometimes. I feel bitter. Maybe it's all the salt I've had lately.
