Merry Christmas everyone :-)
Updateness:
Not much exciting stuff happened at school since my last update except that I got to play a drunk ghost in English and we got to go caroling in Physics by playing songs on water bottles.
Thursday night was the Jingle Bell Ball. Brian came over so my parents could take pictures, then we went to his house because his parents asked us to come by, but they weren't home lol, so we left. We went to Kanki with a big group of Broughton kids. We had fun trying to teach Brian and Lauren how to eat with chopsticks, which eventually ended when I asked the waiter for some of the kiddie chopsticks (spring loaded), though I had to explain how to use those too. So that was much fun and yummy. Then we drove to this club place where the dance was being held. Big Marc rode with us and I felt bad for him because Brian's car is pretty small and Big Marc is really really really tall, even though he's a vegitarian, which makes me happy. Brian opened his sun roof so that Big Marc's head could have more room, which greatly amused me. Anyway, so then we went to the dance. I love that Broughton people actually DANCE at their dances, even though I'm bad at joining them. I think Brian and I were both a little self concious about dancing, but we still had a good time. I taught him to swing dance and we did the electric slide twice and ran around with everyone and it was fun. The music made me smile because there was so much variety! They seriously played everything from Rock around the Clock to My Girl to Baby got Back to Vanilla Ice. So it was a fun dance and the only thing I regret is that Brian and I didn't talk much...I'm still not used to dating someone I don't know very well. Anyway though, back to the story...So after the dance, we went to Erin's house for a midnight breakfast. We were all exausted. Then we think Brian had a reaction to something from dinner because he threw up :-\ so he went home. Matt took Lauren and me home and almost ended up spending the night at my house because I was worried that he was too tired to drive home.
I slept in really late until Steven called asking for last minute help with Rachel's Christmas present lol. So we spent the afternoon running around working on that and fighting the crowd other last minute shoppers. He dropped me back at my house and then I went to Toreros with my parents. A few minutes after we sat down, Dad said "look, it's Rachel!" She was there with her family and Steven. I wasn't sure if she knew I'd been helping Steven with her gift that afternoon so I pretended I hadn't seen him in a while haha even though it'd been like an hour. So we were just talking when all the sudden Rachel looked across the resturant and said "Oh my gosh. It's Anna!" We ran over and found Anna with her family and Sheller lol. So that was just really cool and ironic and it made me happy because I got to see my friends :-)
Last night, Christmas Eve, I went out to dinner with my family and Abbe (my brother's girlfriend), which was yummy. Abbe's goal is to find an alcoholic beverage that I'll like lol, so I tried a sip of the martini she got for dessert because it actually sounded really good-it was a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake martini-and she said I wouldn't even be able to taste the alcohol except a little in the after taste...lol...I could taste it. Eww. Oh well. It's probably a good thing I don't like alcohol anyway. After dinner, I went to church with Anna and Sheller. It was really nice. Very crowded, but that made me happy because I liked seeing so many people come to worship. We had to sit in the CLC because the sanctuary was full, and the CLC was about half full too. They broadcast the service to the CLC though so it worked. I love the end of the Christmas Eve services. They turn off all the lights and extinguish all the candles except one, the Christ Candle. We're each given a small candle. One person lights their candle by the flame of the Christ Candle and passes it on so that eventually we all light eachothers candles. Then we sing Silent Night. It's just really magical.
After the service, we went back to Anna's house for a while and had hot chocolate and hung out and watched Animal Planet. I almost got to see them all on Christmas lol-they dropped me off at 11:59.
This morning I slept until almost noon, when Dad sent Roxanne (Justin's dog) in to wake me up lol. Then we opened presents. I got a new cell phone! That makes me happy because I've had an insanely old one for a while and it's starting to die so this was good timing. Everything about it amuses me. Seriously. Like the turning on noise. It's a camera phone so I spent much of today chasing Roxanne around taking pictures of her with it. I also got a new sweater (gasp! *giggle* yeah I picked it out) and I get to get my hair highlighted thursday and some kind of spa thing sometime. Oh and chocolate covered cherries hehe can't forget those! And a candle from Brian, chocolate scented lotion from Anna and Sheller, the most adorable ornament ever from Megan (ITS A SNITCH!), peanut butter balls from Melissa (YUM!), and cookies and candy from Jessica. So it was a good Christmas, though this is the first year I've really thought about how selfish we've turned the holiday...Birth of Christ = GIVE ME CANDY lol. It's sad. It makes me really wish it was ASP time because that's my favorite way of serving God by helping others. I hope we do some more mission projects in the meantime because I really miss them.
Christmas will be over in two minutes...and I didn't go read the Christmas story out of the Bible like I said I would...I think my New Year's resolution will be to read the Bible, now that I have one that I can actually understand.
